francisco, and the san francisco school district. i hold in my heart in particular the san francisco school district. my husband and my children are graduates of the school district and my grandchildren are beginning at lafayette elementary. thank you so much supervisor kim. this is been a wonderful, wild, and crazy ride. i started at the center 20 hours a week. as a landlady. we have two tenants, cross-cultural learning center, 2-5 year olds. and we have community music center, over 100-year old arts providing service to the city and county of san francisco that is outstanding. these 23 years of it just did mine. there have been many efforts to keep people in the richmond district and beyond good and viable services. we serve people from all over the city at the richmond neighborhood center. we work from schools that feed from all over the city. our staff are expanding. here today are several of our staff and several board members working hard in this transition. they did not know what they got themselves into when they decided to c

served people throughout san francisco i met. i live in district 7 for over 20 years. learn a lot about the schools in the parks there, my two daughters grew up there. it was eye-opening to go knocking on doors. i saw hundreds and hundreds of people who challenged me to deal with the local issues. that is one of the things that i am very passionate about. to go back and say here i am. i want to see if i can find solutions not only to district 7 but citywide. i am entering this chamber in a very good time. it's going to be very challenging. we have a bunch of very diverse, smart, committed people on the board of supervisors. they will - i believe this group can solve it. we can work together and get it done. the issue is, how do we move forward? what are the issues? the economy is getting better. so the issues will not be about cutting, but how to put resources back into the services we lost. don't put them back into services that were ineffective. making sure that whatever we do as we move forward that it will be a better place. issues i care about, really care about.
